LAW-8097 NextGen Advanced Legal Analysis
This course is designed to prepare students for success on the NextGen Performance Tasks. Students will develop a clear understanding of the components of the Performance Task and the criteria used to evaluate passing answers, while learning practical strategies for approaching these tasks efficiently and effectively under exam conditions. The course places particular emphasis on the written portion of the bar exam, equipping students with the skills necessary to produce organized, clear, and client-appropriate written work within strict time constraints. Through guided instruction and structured practice, students will engage with NextGen-style materials and complete a variety of lawyering tasks that mirror those tested on the exam. Throughout the course, students will develop and refine core NextGen Foundational Skills, including critical reading, analysis of legal authorities and facts, issue identification, rule application, and concise legal writing. Students will also learn how to manage time effectively, prioritize relevant information, and produce work product that is tailored to the assigned audience and purpose.
