LAW-2075 Federal Criminal Advocacy
The two credit seminar consists in a study of the federal criminal process, beginning with the indictment and arrest of a defendant, and covering all subsequent phases until sentencing. The course will consist of lectures and class discussion, combined with students drafting memoranda and arguing motions in areas such as grand jury subpoenas, bail/detention, discovery and other pre-trial proceedings, suppression of evidence, change of venue, evidentiary trial issues and sentencing.
