CJU-207 Police and Society
An investigation of the emergence, organization, and structure of police systems. The course focuses on the conditions surrounding the relationship between the police and policed in different historical,cultural, political, and economic contexts. The course explores the historical foundations and racialimplications of various police practices, including stop-and-frisk, use of force, search and seizure, andanalyzes their current application in contemporary policing.
