2023-2024 Catalog

CI-199 Big Ideas and Blank Spaces

We will draw from poetry, music lyrics and visual media to begin to understand the universal themes that connect us and to begin to deeply examine ourselves in the context of these themes. We will actively discuss, reflect upon, interpret, revise and create written work. Students will work individually and collectively in assigned Creator Communities to strengthen their creative problem solving and to develop their creative process through descriptive/sensory writing, reflective writing, visual interpretation, personal essay and will ultimately create mini anthologies in their Creator Communities by the conclusion of the semester.
