LAW-8051 Restorative Justice In State and Federal Court
The purpose of this course is to explore the theoretical underpinnings of restorative justice, practical applications of it in state and federal criminal and civil cases, and potential ways to integrate it into the legal system. In each class, students will compare and contrast the motivating philosophies behind the criminal justice system and restorative justice interventions, both as a way to understand and critique both systems, as well as to contemplate how, if at all, the two might be melded.
