Overview
Academic English Level 2 is designed for students with a high-beginner English language proficiency. Level 2 builds upon the topics learned in level 1 with more advanced and detailed examples. Level 2 will introduce the topics of sentence types, stress patterns, and the use of punctuation. Students will have opportunities to practice writing paragraphs on a single topic using guided questions while also learning how to identify important information through listening to and reading texts. This level also includes a course about life and culture in the U.S.

In order to progress to the next Academic English level or chosen degree program, undergraduate students must earn a C or higher and graduate students must earn a B or higher.
