POLS-321 Genocide and the Legacies of the Holocaust
The Holocaust during World War II fundamentally shaped how we define, identify, prevent, punish, and commemorate genocide. This upper-level interdisciplinary elective introduces and explores the multiple legacies of the Holocaust on both the study and practice of genocide prevention and the domestic and international responses to genocide since World War II. The assigned readings focus on theoretical aspects as well as specific and more recent cases of genocide and alleged genocide.
