LAW-2413 Introduction to Professional Skills
This intersession course will provide students the unique opportunity to prepare for work in a clinic or legal office. Being an effective client advocate takes a range of skills. The course will focus on a skills such as fact investigation, client interviewing, professionalism, cross cultural lawyering, understanding implicit bias, and litigation advocacy through legal writing. The course is designed to address these topics using a case scenario that raises issues of housing discrimination based on familial status. Students will complete the course with basic knowledge of housing laws related to familial status discrimination and having developed practical professional skills that they will be able to later apply in practice.
