Academic Dismissal
A student who continues not to meet satisfactory academic progress toward a degree will be subject to dismissal from the University. Low grade point average, unexplained semester absences, refusal to complete prescribed coursework, unwillingness to follow the recommendations of the Academic Standing Committee, and/or other specific conditions can undermine satisfactory progress and result in academic dismissal. A student is always placed on Academic Notice before they are academically dismissed from the University.
Academic dismissal does not suspend a student’s responsibility to meet prior course commitments. All incomplete (“I) grades will convert to “F” grades unless attended to within one academic year.
A student who has been academically dismissed and wishes to return to the University must appeal to the Academic Standing Committee. Specific details of this process for returning to the University can be found in the academic catalog.
