Academic English Policies
Progression Requirements:
- Undergraduate students in the Academic English (AE) program must earn a minimum of a C grade in each course to move to the next AE level or chosen undergraduate program.
- Graduate students in the Academic English (AE) program must earn a minimum of a B grade in each course to move to the next AE level or chosen graduate program.
- Decisions made on progression are made by the Academic Director in consultation with the appropriate dean's office.
Academic Standing:
- Should students not receive the necessary grades to progress, they may receive an academic warning, be put on probation or be academically dismissed.
- Students may not take more than two semesters of the same AE level or AE course. They cannot repeat any class more than once. If a student does not pass an AE level or AE course after two attempts, he/she will be academically suspended from his/her program and will not be admitted to the University.
