PHIL-210 Ancient Traditions
This course is designed as a preliminary exploration into the historical emergence and development of ancient philosophical thought. Philosophical teachings from Thales to Aquinas will be presented as fundamental to all subsequent philosophy, ideologies, and current methodologies. Ancient philosophical writings and texts will be critically examined in terms of their metaphysical and cosmological claims concerning the nature and origin of the universe and our understanding of it. Normally offered every year.
