HLTH-893 MHA Capstone
The MHA Capstone course synthesizes information, concepts, and tools from the MHA curriculum, enabling students to apply their knowledge to real-world healthcare innovations and challenges. The capstone project should focus on helping or guiding healthcare organizations on how to achieve operational excellence while fostering innovation. With an emphasis on innovative thinking, students will either (1) develop a strategic or operational plan for a healthcare organization with a focus on innovative solutions or (2) conduct a research project on a strategic or operational issue of interest. The course emphasizes a comprehensive, multi-perspective approach, considering financial, operational, and human resources dimensions within the broader healthcare environment.
By incorporating systems thinking and strategic analysis, Capstone equips students to diagnose organizational challenges, conduct research, and craft forward-looking strategies that drive sustainable growth and adaptation. Through the integration of strategic thinking and operational planning, students are prepared to lead effectively, make data-driven decisions, and develop actionable solutions for "what to do next" in healthcare organizations.
