HLTH-801 Evidence-Based Management
This course prepares students to practice evidence-based management in their organizations through an understanding of the different types and uses of evidence, the acquisition of practical skills in search and compilation, and building habits for professional development. Students will learn about the scientific problem-solving cycle as applied to management decision-making, including framing questions, finding appropriate evidence, critical appraisal to reduce bias and judgment errors, and the persuasive reporting of findings. In addition to academic literature, special focus will be given to qualitative approaches to identify and compile tacit organizational knowledge.
