ENT-399 Technology Entrepreneurship

This course exposes students to major paradigms in technology entrepreneurship and help develop an entrepreneurial mindset geared toward pursuing technology entrepreneurship opportunities. Technology entrepreneurship and innovation will be examined in three major domains: 1) hobbyist & makerspace (robotics, drones, 3D printing), 2) software & entertainment (SaaS, online gaming, streaming video), and 3) renewable energy & environmental technologies. Prominent examples of products, platforms, the firms developing them, and their approaches to innovation will be showcased. Students will learn about topics such as incremental & radical innovation, minimum viable product (MVP), iteration & experimentation, product-market fit, pivoting, and business model innovation to achieve a holistic understanding of the technology entrepreneurship landscape and how they can pursue careers in these domains.
