Overview
Academic English Level 3 is designed for students with a low - intermediate English language proficiency. The purpose of level 3 is to build off from the topics learned in level 2 with more advanced and detailed examples. This level also includes a course detailing life and culture in the U.S. with a comparison to other cultures. Level 3 will also introduce the topics of supporting details, modals, intonation, inferences, tag questions as well as note taking and usage of transitions. Students will also have opportunities to engage in debates and to begin writing an essay with a focus on thesis statements.

In order to progress to the next Academic English level, undergraduate students must earn a C or higher and graduate students must earn a B or higher.
