International Direct and International Year One: Art and Design
Overview
The undergraduate one or two-semester International Direct (ID) and the three-semester International Year One (IYO) Art & Design program provides the academic, language and cultural support needed to succeed at Suffolk University. Upon meeting progression requirements, students matriculate into the BFA or BA program of their choice. Program duration is based on English language abilities determined at the time of admission to the university.
Three types of undergraduate ID and IYO Art & Design programs are available.

Note: Graphic Design majors take ADF-S101, ADF-S166, and ADF-S171. Interior Design majors take ADF-S101, ADF-S166, and ADI-S110. Studio Art majors take ADF-S101, ADF-S166 and CI. Each major takes CAS-101, EAP-103, and EAP-104.
Progression Requirements to BFA: 2.0 GPA and 2.7 GPA average with no grade lower than a C+ in the three studio foundation courses; must also have a passing grade in both EAP-103 and EAP-104.
Progression Requirement to BA: 2.0 GPA and a passing grade in both EAP-103 and EAP-104.
International Direct: 2 Semesters
Requirements: 11 courses, 35-36 credits
