HST-371 U.S. Women's History Colonial to 1865
Traces the roles, images, and experiences of women and female-identifying people in America from colonial times to 1865. Topics include family, work, religion, education, health care, motherhood, sexuality, social and political activism, legal status, labor activism, and popular culture. With attention to ethnicity, race, class, age, region of residence, disability, gender identity, and sexual orientation, the course focuses primarily on the everyday lives of ordinary women, including cisgender, transgender, and queer women.
