HLTH-765 Advanced Topics in Operations and Management
This course will rotate its focus based on current trends and innovations in healthcare management. In the next few years, this course will examine the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare operations and management. Students will explore how AI can optimize and automate functions such as scheduling and staffing levels, leading to more efficient operations and improved patient outcomes. Students will learn about AI-driven tools that improve patient experiences, including AI-powered chatbots, virtual health assistants, and personalized engagement platforms. The course also explores other applications of AI including in human resource management and invites guest speakers working in leading AI startups. Ethical considerations of AI, such as data privacy, implications on the healthcare labor force, bias, and the implications of automated decision-making, are also examined.
