ENG-399 Irish Literature
A survey of Irish literary history from the 1890s through the present emphasizing changes in Irish history and culture including the Irish literary revival, the 1916 uprising, the influence of the Catholic Church, emigration, shifts in gender identity, and the tribal strife of the late 20th century known as "The Troubles." The division between traditional Irish culture and the cultures of continental Europe, England and the United States provides a recurrent theme.

Student has completed any of the following course(s) WRI 102 - First-Year Writing II, WRI H103 - Honors Advanced First-Year Writing
