CHEM-411 Quantum Chemistry and Spectroscopy
This course introduces the principles of quantum chemistry through foundational model systems, including the particle in a box, harmonic oscillator, rigid rotor, and hydrogen atom. These models are used to develop a conceptual and mathematical understanding of quantum behavior in chemical systems. Applications include the interpretation of electronic, vibrational, and rotational spectroscopy, as well as the quantum mechanical basis of atomic and molecular structure.
