POLS-943 Leadership in the Public Arena
What makes a great leader? This course examines public leadership in the United States and across the globe. Personal qualities of character, perspective, optimism, courage, and resilience will be examined. Skills and abilities such as vision, strategic thinking, active listening, collaboration, persuasiveness, and crisis management are explored. We will also consider particular challenges to leadership today such as differences in values, obstruction, and misinformation.
