PHIL-331 Latin American Philosophy
This course will examine the philosophical heritage of the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking communities from North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean. Students will explore the thought of various schools that have arisen across this tradition (e.g., the Hyperion Group from mid-20th century Mexico), as well as more general issues such asindigenous influences, feminist philosophy, essentialism, and decolonial philosophy.
