MATH-555 Senior Capstone
This course provides substantial experiences for students majoring in applied mathematics. Working individually or in teams, students engage in projects that integrate mathematical theory, modeling, computation, and communication. Topics may include stock market analysis, cryptography, data science, optimization, machine learning, or other applications drawn from science, economics, engineering, and finance. Emphasis is placed on formulating real-world problems in mathematical terms, implementing quantitative methods, and presenting results in both written and oral formats. The capstone develops students’ ability to synthesize their mathematical knowledge, conduct independent inquiry, and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
