ISOM-440 Enterprise Resource Planning System and Process Reengineering

In todays multi-national, competitive world, organizations are seeking creative solutions to streamline and improve business operations. This is achieved by optimizing business processes and utilizing integrated software packages. Business Process Management (BPM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems aide organization in meeting their strategic objectives. BPM focuses on analyzing, measuring, optimizing, and automating business processes. With a successful BPM, ERP systems enable a wide variety of organizations to manage integrated business process functionality efficiently and effectively. This course provides students with an understanding on how to analyze and manage business processes by using BPM lifecycle and ERP system. They will also learn how enterprise systems are implemented and how to strategize for maximize benefits. The students will gain hands-on experience with a process modeling application to learn how to model, analyze, and simulate typical business processes. Lab exercises with SAP ERP system can reinforce students understanding of important enterprise systems and integrated business process concepts, and make real-life decisions to optimize business process management
