CJN-327 Cinematography

This course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to become proficient cinematographers. Moving from the principles of framing, lensing, lighting, and movement introduced in CJN-152 and CJN-2355, students will learn how to imagine and execute specific visual approaches to create meaning. With an emphasis on hands-on exercises and projects -- in addition to lecture, discussions, and analysis of film techniques used in other films -- students will learn to manipulate professional cameras, lenses, lights, and grip equipment to create visually compelling images that enhance storytelling. In addition, students will be able to collaborate effectively with directors and other crew members.
