CAS-191 Selected Topics in Coastal Sustainability
Explore the current issues facing management and conservation of the coastal areas, also known as the Coastal Transition Zone (CTZ). Evaluate the land use history, mitigation, conservation, and restoration tools that are currently proposed or actively used. Synthesize the scientific literature on major issues in CTZs around the globe with focus on the pressing sustainable land-sea use issues. Develop skills in prioritizing and advocating for particular conservation strategies. Practice science communication skills and effectively reach a broad audience.
