BIO-573 Bioinformatics
Bioinformatics is a tool that informs molecular biology, conservation genetics, and clinical science. We will introduce best practices for acquisition of genetic data at the bench and through online repositories. Next-generation sequencing data will be analyzed using online tools and programming languages such as R/Bioconductor and Python. These data will be applied toward one or more areas of cancer research, conservation genomics, and other topics. Familiarity with R is strongly recommended.
