LAW-2209 ODR Innovation Clinic Seminar
Online Dispute Resolution Innovation Clinic (10 credits, full-year)This clinic offers students the opportunity to design and implement a cutting-edge Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) process for simple divorces in Massachusetts in collaboration with the American Arbitration Association. Students will gain hands-on experience in family law, dispute resolution, legal technology, and design thinking while working closely with clients, court stakeholders, and legal experts. The clinic includes a weekly seminar covering among other topics substantive family law, legal technology, and best practices in ODR design for "justice tech." Students will develop essential lawyering skills, including client counseling, legal research, and problem-solving, while contributing to an innovative access-to-justice initiative alongside other international leaders. Students apply for and are admitted to the Clinic through the clinical application. Students in this clinic must register for the clinic casework and clinic seminar.
