POLS-761 Understanding Governance
In order to understand how global governance has changed over the past few decades, the course provides students with an introduction to the history, theory, structures, and processes of the main challenges of the international agenda. The readings and activities in class focus on explaining and describing the traditional topics that have dominated our understanding of the globe, such as international law, security, and conflict. The primary objective of the course is to investigate how human activity at various levels of analysis increases the institutional capabilities of international actors, generates cutting-edge knowledge to handle problems, and enables participation in global policy processes.
