Sports Management, BSBA

Overview

The BSBA in Sports Management is designed to cover the topics of management, marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, economics, law and ethics, and analytics. The curriculum provides learners with an interdisciplinary business background to offer to future employers. Learners will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and capabilities to obtain employment in a range of positions within the sports industry.

The BSBA in Sports Management requires the completion of a minimum of 21 credits (7 classes) in the Sports Management major. A cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 in the Sports Management major and a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 overall must be maintained to graduate.

Sports Management major will provide a holistic understanding of operating a business in a sports context.

 

Learners will be able to apply key concepts and learning from multiple business disciplines including management, finance, marketing, and analytics.

Sports Management Program will increase students' understanding of the wide-ranging responsibilities of sports business professionals.

 

Learners will have the ability to work and communicate within teams or as an individual with their peers across all business units.

Sports Management major will provide the opportunity for learners to apply core analytics teaching in a sports context.

Learners will be to use data to help sports organizations solve business problems, engage consumers and satisfy key performance metrics.

 Sports Management major will develop learners’ ability to manage the marketing planning process, including STP and the marketing mix, to the marketing of sports products to consumers.

 

Learners will be able to apply core marketing concepts to understand the needs and wants of key stakeholders and develop a marketing mix that demonstrates value.

Sports Management major will provide practical experience within a sports setting to provide learners with a competitive advantage as they enter their professional careers.

 

Learners will be able to reference in-class projects, practical experiences and internships to competitively position themselves in the job market.
